On offer for your consideration, a very nice example of a Tissot Seastar PR516 GL with automatic mechanical movement. Serviced 12 months ago and running well, keeping very good time for its age.Watches from this period are described as good time keepers if they are accurate to within +/- 2 minutes per day, and this particular item falls comfortably and easily within this discipline, probably more like +/- 2 minutes per week if not better. Date window at the 3 o'clock changes over nicely every night. Nice condition throughout, with the superb vintage patina that only comes from a lifetime of careful and light / occasional use. Chunky case with a diameter of 36mm excluding the crown. The bright plating is in generally good condition, with some light localised marking / wear, which adds rather than detracts from the charm of the watch.
The crown shows some plating loss, but is still fully functional. Plexiglass / acrylic crystal looks completely mark-free, so I would suggest that it is possibly not the original item? When it came to me the watch was mounted on a plain black non-tissot leather strap, but I have been lucky enough to find a NOS (New Old Stock) Tissot rally strap of the correct period in a lovely honey tan leather, which really complements the rare and desirable textured "Tropic" dial. The white baton hour and minutes hands are in nice clean condition and contrast nicely against the bronze coloured dial, as does the bright orange sweep style second hand. Now sadly for the serious bits.... If you have any further questions or would like more pictures of a specific part of the watch please just ask, and I will respond as quickly and accurately as I can.
I cannot post to UK or overseas P. Boxes, packstations, drop off points, etc.
