Zenith Chronometer Captain Automatic 1970's Vintage Watch 35mm Rare Pan Pie Dial

Zenith watch movements were incredibly advanced and the watch we have here is an excellent example, having a superb Swiss made gold gilt case and the Calibre 221 automatic movement. This beautiful watch is a superb example of a rare hard to find dial combination. Dial: The dial carries the signature star and is signed Zenith Chronometer Automatic with Swiss Made at the bottom. The classic and beautifully styled champagne dial has a wonderful original mix of'chevron' indices'6-9-12' along with applied raised gold arrow indexes matched with the original'baton' hands.

This is an impressive dial due to the contrast between the champagne of the dial and the gold furnishings. This dial is generally in good condition with light pitting and spotting to the dial and hands as can be seen in the images, not noticeable to the naked eye. Movement: Signed Chronometer Zenith 30 Jewels Swiss Made numbered 5650644. The original Zenith Calibre 221, 30 Jewel automatic movement is as clean as they come.

It is also nicely finished with the Geneva wave used on higher quality movements. Case: The gold plated, Zenith Swiss-made is serial numbered 9709 between the lugs at 6, watch case measures a large 35mm, excluding the correct Zenith unsigned crown. There are no deep scratches or dents that I can see. Case Back Cover Inner: The inside of the case-back is simply signed'Zenith Swiss Made' Acier Inoxydable.

Case Back Cover Outer: Has surface hairline scratches associated with polished stainless steel commensurate with age and wear. Crown/Winder: In good functional order, very smooth. Crystal: Has some scratches commensurate with age and wear not noticeable unless looking closely or under magnification. Strap/Buckle: New good quality aftermarket unauthentic leather strap and steel buckle fitted.
